Tech-Marine Steel ApS delivered the steel for Copenhagen International Airport control tower

Earlier today the last truck carrying steel elements for the new control tower in Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup arrived on the construction site.

The new control tower will replace the old one used since 1971.
When the electronics are installed the tower will be one of the most advanced control towers in the world. The tower will be 70 meter high, giving an unsurpassed view of the complete airport terrain.
Tech-Marine Steel ApS produced steel for the upper part of the tower. This part the “cab” consists of a total of 5 levels where the two upper levels are used by the air controllers.

The production of the steel elements was done in one of Tech-Marine’s workshops in Poland.

The tower and the base are expected to be fully operational in 2006, thereafter it is supposed to be running alongside the old tower for one year, in order to streamline the operation. In 2007 the old tower is shut down and all air control operations are handed over to the new tower.
